The Gallery – My Awesome Photo

This week the theme in the Gallery is My Awesome Photo.

This is mine. It was taken whilst we were on our honeymoon. We stayed on a tiny island in the Maldives and it used to take us about 20 minutes to walk around the entire thing. We still ended up taking around 500 photos because the views, particularly the ocean, were so amazing.

We took this shot one evening whilst out on an excursion looking at dolphins. They were amazing but, at one point, the sunset was even more amazing.

So here it is, my awesome photo.

And a great memory – that’s what I’m loving about the Gallery this week – not the pictures, but what they mean to the photographer. I was lucky enough to go to Rangali Island in the Maldives and it was almost surreal how beautiful and special it is there. It is really and truly paradise!

Oh that’s the Hilton/Conrad! If I ever go back then I really want to stay there next time.

That is an awesome photo! I never would have been able to take it though as I would have been puking everywhere! (I get really seasick!)

    • Notmyyearoff December 7, 2011 / 9:10 am

My OH threw up all over pretty coral and fish that looked like nemo and Dory. I was mortified!

Nice, looks like a small boat so I guess was a lot of fun seeing dolphins in it?

    • Notmyyearoff December 7, 2011 / 3:40 pm

Yep the boat was called a dhoni, wall wooden and very rocky. Dolphins were worth it though.

  7. Mags December 7, 2011 / 1:11 pm

Such a beautiful photo! We also went to the Maldives for our honeymoon and loved every second of it – one of my biggest regrets is only taking about three pictures 🙁
