Snow and Wellies

This week we’ve had snow!! I have a bit of a fickle relationship with snowy weather. I love it if we have no place to go (let it snow let it snow…!) but hate it if I have to be at work and out and about

Little Z arrived in the snowy weather (not literally), and snow now always reminds me of the numerous times we trudged to and fro to the hospital in the icy cold weather when he was due.

It snowed on his 1st birthday too but he was too young too young to appreciate it properly and too distracted by all the balloons from his party to remember.

Two days ago he saw it again when it covered the entire street. Completely excited by the newness of it all we stood watching the “stow!” for ages. Not enough to play in but enough to keep him fascinated for a while.

I realised then that he didn’t have any wellies that fit! Unfortunately the snow didn’t hang about for too long so we didn’t enjoy it for long. We did manage to get some new wellies though.

And it’s forecast more snow on Friday so this time we are prepared!

I live wearing wellies. I’m an all season wellie wearerer! I agree that snow is great when you’ve nowhere to go.

He is fascinated with them. Think this might be the start of a new era with wellies

Aw, lovely photos, it’s so magical watching children experience snow isn’t it. My son was born just before a big snowfall too and I have vivid memories of trying to push a buggy along snowy, icy paths in pursuit of nappies, milk and chocolate biscuits, almost crying in pain from the exertion of it all.

Oh ouch!! I have similar memories but I don’t think i ever took the buggy out for a while. I was stuck indoors for ages!

Hope the lovely new boots get some snow action on friday! My kids can’t wait! I can though – we’re out in the sticks – a few inches and we could be snowed in 🙁

Loving the wellies. I have a similar relationship to snow. This week I said to myself that if it snowed after 5pm Thursday that that was fine with me. And it didn’t start snowing till around then which was great. Then we had time to have fun without stressing.
