Well you know what they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. However, the rumour is that some sneaky individuals have been rebelling, and have purposely chosen to start their day on an empty stomach. Crazy we know, but very true. If you’re guilty of such a culinary crime, then we’ve got news for you… You’ve been missing out. Big time. Forget about dry toast or boring Weetabix; you could have been indulging in some tasty almond milk based meals even before you’d left the house. Don’t believe us? Here are our favourite breakfasts to stop that tummy rumbling.

Ingredients: 180g of rolled porridge oats, 900 ml of almond milk, 1 tsp of cinnamon or ginger, 100g of chopped dried apricots, 2 ripe pears peeled and chopped, a small handful of chopped walnuts, pistachios or pecans, honey.
Porridge is without doubt one of the best breakfasts to begin the day with. The beauty of porridge is that not only is it full of ‘good fats’ and is bursting with fibre, but it also provides you with a slow release of energy throughout the morning, keeping hunger pangs at bay till at least lunchtime.
And it’s so easy to make! You simply put the oats, almond milk, apricots and spice into a non-stick pan, then place over a medium heat. Following this, bring it up to the boil, and reduce to a simmer. We recommend that you stir the porridge every now and again until the oats are softened. This should take up to eight minutes. And to finish, top with pears, nuts and a drizzle of honey. Lovely.
Ingredients: 176g of plain white flour, ½ tsp of bicarbonate of soda, 1 tsp of cream of tartar and syrup, 1 tbsp of caster sugar, 1 large free range egg, 150ml almond milk, sunflower oil, a pinch of salt and a handful of finely chopped strawberries.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth and fancy a health kick before heading out to work then why not think about trying some scrumptious strawberry pancakes for breakfast? Pancakes are too delicious to be saved for just the one day, so spread the love.
All you need to do is, first of all, mix all the ingredients (except the oil) together in a large bowl. After this, whisk them until you have a smooth-ish batter which is quite thick. Then, heat a heavy bottom frying pan, add the sunflower oil and drop a tablespoon-sized dollop of the mixture into the pan. Do not move the mixture; wait for little bubbles to appear on the surface, and once you see a few bubbles pop, turn your pancake and gently press down until it’s nice and golden on both sides. Then, to finish, add strawberries and drizzled syrup.
Ingredients: 235ml almond milk, 15g protein powder, 1 and 2/3 tsp of honey, 1 peeled ripe banana and 2 ice cubes.
