Before Little Z came along I had a somewhat ok social life. It mostly involved my friends, chatting a lot and eating out (or in) a lot. Life was good and simple for the most part. Absolutely everywhere involved a car. Suffice to say I probably wasn’t very fit.

Once Little Z came along and started walking it was a bit of a shock to the system. All of a sudden I was either running around after him or taking jun our for walks because he loves it. And once he started talking and making his own demands I had no choice but to obediently comply.

“Go for walk” is one of Little Zs favourite things in the world to do. He now knows exactly how to get to the park from leaving our front door. (Granted its kind of across the road but, still…genius!).

He does think though that “Go for walk” translates to “dart off and scream excitedly so that mummy chases you”.

We’re still working on that.

Bless him! It’s great that he wants to be out in the fresh air running around. All kids seem to love this, but they do reach a point where they say walks are boring, even if they love them once they get out!

Lovely post! Like the photo too, great spring in his step!

  3. helloitsgemma March 27, 2013 / 9:28 am

Very sweet and I love that he sees a walk as a game of chase!

  4. Mama Syder March 27, 2013 / 9:37 am

Awww bless, love this post, it reminds me of when my boys were that age. They loved the park too x

My boys used to love trips to the park and playground. Even more fun when he can ride a bike…

  6. Brinabird and Son March 27, 2013 / 10:23 am

Yep! My wee man likes to order me around like that too. I have certainly discovered more about Glasgow and walks than before and thankfully our park is close by too!

Funny how walking takes on a whole new meaning with a kid eh? Fun though for totally different reasons

  8. David March 27, 2013 / 12:35 pm

Love it. We go through the same thing. But of course, we wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂

I can hear the scream from the photo too!

We’re at the ‘I’d rather sit inside and veg’ stage atm. Enjoy the exercise while you can.

Elizabeth is exactly the same – always wants outside – but I’m glad for it most of the time, even if I’m not that enthusiastic initially! Love his wee coat!

  14. Kara March 27, 2013 / 5:02 pm

Won’t be long before you have an added scooter / bike and end up chasing him!

  15. Lous Lake Views March 27, 2013 / 5:28 pm

Aww bless him, keep encouraging the walking because before you know it he’ll be grunting at you from behind a computer screen and you’ll need to physically drag him out of the house 🙂

  16. A Patchwork Life March 27, 2013 / 6:42 pm

‘Keep up mum!’ Lovely photo of him striding off, and great he’s so keen to charge about outside x

  17. HelpfulMum March 27, 2013 / 8:00 pm

Haha! A walk usually involves being chased with our two as well. Lovely photo.

  18. Kelloggsville March 27, 2013 / 9:36 pm

Brilliant that he wants to be out. Keep it up!

  19. LauraCYMFT March 27, 2013 / 10:41 pm

Awww cute! It is good if they enjoy a walk. My 2 don’t like the idea of going for a walk but once they get to the park they are fine lol!
