Can you believe it’s November? Arrgh. One more month to your 3rd birthday. Actually, it’s a bit less than a month as pretty late writing this post. We’ve been on holiday you see. And you’ve absolutely loved it.
You were so excited about sitting on the aeroplane you shouted “Neeeeeowww!” constantly at the airport whilst riding your Trunki around. Then you made full use of the inflight entertainment for hours on end. Including “calling people” on the remote control. You decided aeroplane food is rubbish though and didn’t eat for about 24 hours which worried us a bit. You did keep asking for fruit and milk though so we weren’t too panicked. You must have observed us pretty carefully in restaurants as, just as a waiter arrived to take our order in one particular place in Kuala Lumpur, you scrambled over me very quickly, stood face to face with him and asked very boldly “can I have some spaghetti please?”. The thing was it was a chicken restaurant but your Daddy dived out of the place to find you some. You then happily stuffed your face with your takeaway as we tucked into our chicken. The restaurant was very understanding. Every day after that you would ask the waiters for “juice and spaghetti please”, even at breakfast.
You made friends with the hotel guests and they all knew you by name. No one seemed to know ours but we’re used to that now. Its really nice you now have “friends” that come from all over the world. Each morning you’d ask where your friends had gone and then shout “Hellloooooo?” over to the next balcony where the nice Korean couple were staying. On one particular outing a random group of girls asked if they could take a photo with you. We were a bit surprised at first and eventually let them. You looked really confused at first but then smiled for the camera. They didn’t want us in the photo though. Huh.
You took all the travel in your stride and it didn’t phase you one bit. Mind you, you can lie down quite comfortably in an aeroplane seat. Your Daddy and I looked like zombies after the 24 hours journey and literally crawled into bed to recover.
One brilliant thing that happened was that you finally took a liking to the swimming pool. You’ve always hated it and never like the water on your face and hair and prefer to sit watching from the sun lounge. This time you decided to give it a go and really loved it. Even the splashing! You’d even try to entice other holiday makers to join you “to go to the bubbles”.
We’ve been back a few days now and we’re almost back to normal. All except your sleeping pattern. You seem to be stuck on Malaysian time and keep waking at 4am. Every. Single. Day. I am so tired!
So that was our November. It’s time to start thinking about your birthday!
