On Sunday night, Hollywood gathered at the 2026 Actor Awards (formerly known as the SAG Awards), where Sinners won big and Bowen Yang missed presenting with Connor Storrie because he was stuck in Antarctica. But it was a plus-one that really stole the spotlight: Teyana Taylor, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in One Battle After Another, brought along her 5-year-old daughter, Rue Rose, who completely stole the show pretty much anytime she was on-camera.
Teyana and Rue posed together on the carpet first, laughing and throwing up peace signs. When Teyana’s Thom Browne dress got a little stuck, Rue was quick to fix the train in the most adorable way I have ever seen before running off the carpet for her mom to get a moment in the spotlight.
After that, Rue joined her mom for an interview with Entertainment Tonight, introducing herself (“my age is 5,” she clarified) before asking to sing a song. She sang a verse from Frozen’s “Let It Go” and obviously blew everyone away. If this isn’t star power, I don’t know what is.
Rue got a little more earnest while speaking with Live From E!’s Justin Sylvester when she offered a sweet message for her mom. “I wanted to say this is such an honor for me being here,” she said, “and I wanted to thank you guys for my mom and this wonderful day, and all of y’all outfits look very good. And I’m mostly saying this for my mom.” She continued: “And I hope when I grow up, I can get a trophy, too.” In our hearts, she already has.
