I regret to report that Benny Blanco is discussing his own hygiene again, and this time he got Ed Sheeran to weigh in. On the March 10 episode of his podcast, Friends Keep Secrets, Blanco asked Sheeran, his frequent collaborator and guest of the show, how often he showers. Sheeran responded that he bathes at least once, but more often twice, a day, adding, “I feel like I’m like you, though. I look like I don’t smell good. But actually, you’re the best-smelling person I know.” (Actually, the best-smelling person Sheeran knows is almost certainly Rihanna.)
Remarkably, discussion of Blanco’s personal habits continued. “I know, I smell good,” Blanco agreed, confidently adding that even when he hasn’t showered, he never stinks. Blanco’s co-host Lil Dicky chimed in that he, too, has a signature smell, and Lil Dicky’s wife, Kristin Batalucco, encouraged Sheeran to sniff both men’s belly buttons to compare odors. “Mine smells just like nothing,” Blanco assured everyone.
This is somehow not the first time this month Blanco has felt the need to share how clean he is. When he and Lil Dicky debuted their podcast in February, the content of the first episode was overshadowed by Blanco’s grime-covered bare feet, which he rested all over Lil Dicky’s furniture. Blanco addressed the dirty-foot scandal directly on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he took off both socks and shoes to demonstrate the squeaky clean bottom of his foot. If I promise I believe that Blanco showers regularly, cleans his feet, and smells fresh as a daisy, will he stop bringing it up?
