The luxury-gym amenities wars continue. In an unexpected twist, Equinox announced to members on Wednesday that it’s ditching Grown Alchemist for Le Labo on March 19. All locations will offer the brand’s hair, body, and face products in its signature Basil scent.

The fitness company has been stocking its locker rooms with Grown Alchemist products since 2024, when it switched over from Kiehl’s, to the ire of the larger Equinox community. One member compared Grown Alchemist’s potent, citrusy scents to a “mosquito candle,” while another wrote that the “new lotion doesn’t rub in, it was like a wax layer on my skin, and the conditioner left my hair in tangles.” Please find it in your heart to feel bad for those wronged gym rats — they’re shelling out $300 a month for the privilege of working out at the exclusive health clubs, and all they’re asking for is some nice body cream.

To make matters worse, Life Time, Equinox’s biggest competitor, announced that it would be offering Kiehl’s hair and body products in its locker rooms about a year later, forcing Equinox regulars to watch enviously while Life Time members bragged about their frequent access to Creme de Corps.

So you can imagine the celebrations going down in r/EquinoxGyms now that members have finally gotten even fancier shower supplies. “War is over!” one redditor wrote. “Hell yes!” said another. “Grown Alchemist can suck it lol.” Okay, fine — I’ll update the scoreboard to Life Time: 1, Equinox: 1.
