A lot of us might find the idea of kissing Alexander Skarsgård really appealing, but not Nicole Kidman. Apparently she didn’t want to kiss him while they were filming the first season of Big Little Lies because Skarsgård made the crucial error of enjoying a falafel sandwich right before it was supposed to happen, and Kidman cannot convincingly make out with a co-star whose mouth still smells like chickpeas.
Kidman shared this behind-the-scenes tidbit on a Wednesday episode of Las Culturistas, where she explained that the one thing she cannot stand is bad breath and proceeded to bring up Skarsgård as an example. “When Alexander Skarsgård ate a falafel sandwich before we did the scenes in Big Little Lies,” she said, “I’m like, ‘No, no, no, Alex. I’m meant to be into you and kissing you — put away the falafel now.’” In fact, Kidman continued, falafel should be off the menu before doing anything romantic. “Not before you kiss. Not before you make love. No more falafel.” Kidman might even have turned Skarsgård off of falafel sandwiches for life. “I’m sure he did not eat a falafel ever again,” she said.
So if you were thinking of asking Kidman on a date, just make sure you’re not grabbing anything in the pita territory. Otherwise you might hear your name on a podcast soon.
