If you’re going to ask Law Roach about Zendaya and Tom Holland’s possibly fictional wedding, prepare to be disappointed. Roach may have told reporters at the Actor Awards that Zendaya had secretly gotten married, but everybody who tried to follow up about that on the 2026 Oscars red carpet got a different nonsense reply.
“You know what? I really wanted those Chanel shoes that just dropped the other day, but I didn’t make it to the store on time,” was Roach’s response to one red-carpet interviewer who asked about the wedding. To another, he replied, “I think the weather is really amazing today. It’s so sunny. It’s a little warm, but it’s beautiful.”
When Extra asked Roach about Zendaya, he confirmed that she would definitely be attending the Oscars herself (she didn’t show up on the red carpet, but later presented the Best Director award with her The Drama co-star, Robert Pattinson). When asked to clarify the comments he made about Zendaya’s wedding, Roach replied only, “I said what I said.”
Roach brought this line of questioning upon himself. Earlier in March, the image architect went viral when he told Access Hollywood that Zendaya and Holland had already gotten married. “The wedding has already happened. You missed it,” he said at the time. This has still not been confirmed by either Zendaya or Holland, and Roach has proven himself something of an unreliable narrator.
