What even is a girl group in 2026? The Pussycat Dolls are about to find out. This week, nearly 20 years after their creation, the band — well, three of the members — announced they’re reuniting and going on tour for the first time in 17 years.

Returning to the group for the PCD Forever tour is Nicole Scherzinger (fresh off her big Broadway run in Sunset Blvd.), Ashley Roberts, and Kimberly Wyatt. A larger iteration of the group (all of them minus Melody Thornton) briefly attempted a comeback in 2019, but it didn’t take off due to a combination of COVID and legal disputes between Scherzinger and the founder. On Friday, the trio released new music for the first time since then, dropping a single called “Club Song.” Based on the track, which opens with Scherzinger singing, “Don’t bring your boyfriend to the club” and the trio chiming in with “dolls” before the beat drops, these songs will sound a lot like their past hits.

The tour starts on June 5 in the U.S., along with planned stints in Europe. It’s unclear exactly why the three other members — Carmit Bachar, Thornton, and Jessica Sutta — aren’t involved, but Bachar and Sutta didn’t seem to know about the reunion until it was announced on social media. They both shared cryptic Instagram Stories suggesting they’re not too happy about it.

Thornton hasn’t addressed the news publicly, but the announcement did prompt a viral video of Scherzinger shooting annoyed looks at Thornton onstage during an early-aughts performance to recirculate online, fueling further speculation of a rift in the group. Two weeks ago, Thornton posted a photo of KATSEYE’s Manon, who announced a hiatus from the global girl group in February and is the only Black member, with the caption “We see you.”

The group told the BBC, “This is the lineup now, for 2026, but you never know with the Pussycat Dolls what might come next.”
