Since we first heard we were getting a third season of Euphoria approximately 7,000 years ago, the production has been plagued with starts, stops, and rumors about all sorts of drama. Now it seems the show’s Emmy-winning composer has some grievances to air out. On Thursday, Labrinth, the British musician behind the show’s score, slammed the show and his record label, Columbia Records, in an Instagram post. “IM DONE WITH THIS INDUSTRY,” the artist wrote. “FUCK COLUMBIA. DOUBLE FUCK EUPHORIA. IM OUT. THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT X.”
Labrinth (whose real name is Timothy Lee McKenzie) did not say what led to his apparent falling out with the show. He spoke positively about Euphoria this past summer when he responded to the news that acclaimed composer Hans Zimmer would be joining him on the third season’s score. “Another chapter in the Euphoria universe!” Labrinth said in a statement in July. “So great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season.”
Whatever went down, it seems like Labrinth may not be the only wronged party. In a comment on his Instagram post on Thursday, Kirsten Coleman, who was a makeup artist on the show’s first season, signaled her support to Labrinth. “I understand. You aren’t alone,” she wrote.
The new season premieres in April — how much drama do you think we’ll see until then?
